On Friday, Barack Obama delivered the eulogy for Rev. Clementa Pinckney, the slain pastor of Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston. Naturally, he exploited the occasion — metaphorically stood on Pinckney’s casket — to repeat the need for his policy preferences, namely more gun control. “For too long, we’ve been blind to the unique mayhem that gun violence inflicts upon this nation,” Obama thundered.
