ELIGIBILITY:  Open to any individual

ENTRY FEES:

Friday Practice:  $10
Saturday/Sunday – State Championship:  $60

ENTRY CLOSING: Advanced entry is requested, but same day entries will be accepted the day of the match and up to
the entry limit.

ENTRY LIMIT: Match is limited to 60 competitors. Entries will be accepted in the order by which they are received.

RULES: This is a NRA Registered match. Current NRA High Power Rifle rules apply.

TARGETS: NRA LR and LRFC

CLASSIFICATION: NRA Highpower classification, Rule 19.6 Assigned Classification, and Rule 19.2 Unclassified Master

DIVISION BY RIFLE:
P: Palma rifle
O: F-Class Open
T: F-Class Target

AWARDS SCHEDULE:

  • Matches 1 – 6: monetary awards will be given. There must be at least 3 competitors in each class to be eligible for awards. If less than 3 competitors are entered in a class, then classes will be combined upwards until a class with at least 3 competitors is formed. Awards will be given as follows: 3 competitors=1st, 7 competitors=2nd, 11 competitors=3rd, and 15 competitors=4th.
  • Match 7: Nevada State Long Range Championship trophy

CHALLENGE PERIOD: Challenge period ends 30 minutes after results have been posted. Challenge fee is $5

TARGET SERVICE: Target service will not be provided for the practice or matches. All competitors must pull targets. If you cannot pull targets due to a medical condition, please notify the match director in advance and a best effort will be made to accomodate. You may bring your own target puller, but they will be assigned to another shooter. Target pullers will be asked to carpool to the pits.

SCORING: Scorers will not be provided. All competitors are required to score.

EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR (ECI): A NRA approved empty chamber indicator must be inserted into the rifle at all times except during the shooters’ preparation period or while firing. Courtesy ECIs will be provided at the match. 

FOOD & DRINKS: Food will not be provided at the match. Water will be available at comfort stations around the match.  Alcohol is not permitted at the Washoe County Regional Shooting Facility.

CAMPING: Camping is not permitted at the Washoe County Regional Shooting Facility. See match resources page for camping areas in the Reno/Sparks area (www.palominogunclub.org)

INCOMPLETE MATCHES: In the event that a match cannot be completed due to circumstances out of Palomino Valley Gun Club’s control, winners will be decided based on matches completed. Entree fees will not be refunded.

Match Schedule

Squadding will take place at 7:30 AM, safety briefing at 8:00 AM and firing begins at 8:30 AM, all days.

Squadded Practice
Each relay will be allocated 35 minutes and shoot an unlimited number of shots. Multiple relays may be shot if
there is enough interest among participants.

Saturday, June 1st
Individual 1000 Yard
Match 1 – unlimited sighters, 20 shots for record, 1000 yards, 30 minutes
Match 2 – unlimited sighters, 20 shots for record, 1000 yards, 30 minutes
Match 3 – unlimited sighters, 20 shots for record, 1000 yards, 30 minutes
Divisions: Palma Rifle, F-Open, F-TR

Sunday, June 2nd
Individual 1000 Yard
Match 4 – unlimited sighters, 20 shots for record, 1000 yards, 30 minutes
Match 5 – unlimited sighters, 20 shots for record, 1000 yards, 30 minutes
Match 6 – unlimited sighters, 20 shots for record, 1000 yards, 30 minutes
